Techex and Skyline Communications launch solution to accelerate Dynamic Media Facility adoption
Techex and Skyline Communications announce an expanded technology collaboration that brings intelligent resource management, lifecycle automation, and orchestration capabilities to tx darwin, Techex's software-defined media platform.

Pairing software-defined processing with operational intelligence
Building on a successful relationship that already includes integrations between Techex tx core and tx edge, the new solution pairs tx darwin, Techex’s modular software-defined media processing platform, with the DataMiner xOps Platform.
“tx darwin was designed to give media organizations the flexibility of software-defined infrastructure while maintaining the performance and reliability required for mission-critical operations,” said David Edwards, Product Manager at Techex. “Integrating with the DataMiner xOps Platform extends that vision with orchestration and resource management capabilities that help customers maximize the value of their infrastructure investments.”
Through the integration, operators gain centralized visibility into service status, health, and resource utilization of key tx darwin processing functions for dynamic MCR and distribution environments. They can also automate key lifecycle actions, including deploying tx darwin blueprints, scaling services as demand changes, and retiring resources when they are no longer needed.
Accelerating Dynamic Media Facilities
The new solution gives broadcasters and media organizations a practical path to accelerate their transition toward a Dynamic Media Facility (DMF), a reference architecture defined by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) for software-defined media infrastructure that can be dynamically reconfigured to meet changing production demands.
“Broadcasters have spent years overprovisioning for peak demand, running facilities where utilization can sit under 10 percent for most of the year,” said Thomas Gunkel, Market Director Broadcast at Skyline Communications. “The Dynamic Media Facility gives the industry a blueprint for moving away from that model. But a blueprint alone doesn’t orchestrate anything. What’s been missing is the operational layer that can actually plan, allocate, and retire resources across that dynamic infrastructure, which is where this collaboration with Techex comes in.”
Live at IBC
The combined tx darwin and DataMiner solution will be demonstrated live at IBC at the Techex and Skyline Communications booths, where visitors can see how software-defined media resources can be deployed, managed, scaled, and optimized through a unified operational framework.
