Skyline joins aims alliance for ip media solutions
Skyline Communications has joined AIMS. The Alliance for IP Media Solutions is the independent media and entertainment trade association formed to foster the adoption of standards to facilitate the broadcast and media industry’s transition from SDI to IP.
“Being the global leading provider of end-to-end multi-vendor network management and orchestration solutions, Skyline Communications has been working with leading broadcasters and service providers worldwide for many years to monitor, orchestrate and automate their operations, facilities and networks,” commented Ben Vandenberghe, CEO. "By joining the AIMS initiative, we intend to further support the broadcast industry in establishing and adopting new standards and fostering innovation and efficiency.”

“Standardization and interoperability have never been so vital to the broadcast industry.” said Steven Soenens, Product Marketing Director, “This industry is at the verge of transitioning to digital workflows, running on a mixture of SDI, all-IP and virtualized infrastructures. End-to-end broadcast operation and automation rely on a system that can monitor and orchestrate an entire infrastructure without limitations. The DataMiner multi-vendor platform is already integrated with solutions from more than 500 different vendors, including most of the AIMS members. By joining the alliance, we wish to further support the simplification, automation and innovation of today’s broadcast operations.”
AIMS Chairman Michael Cronk said, “AIMS is pleased to welcome Skyline Communications to the ranks of its membership. Skyline brings a wealth of experience in network management software for broadcast, satellite and IPTV applications and we look forward to their contribution as we seek to foster the adoption of common, ubiquitous protocols for IP interoperability.”
At IBC 2016, Skyline (booth 1.A23) will present the world premiere of DataMiner 9.5, with many new features including a new virtualization engine, service and resource management, a cloud platform and extensive advanced analytics capabilities.
