Skyline Communications accelerates AI-native media operations with new Microsoft Foundry integration at IBC Amsterdam

At IBC 2026, Skyline Communications will demonstrate how DataMiner xOps and Microsoft Foundry help media companies connect operational data, controls, knowledge, and workflows to build AI-native operations with governed intelligence.

Skyline Communications and Microsoft partnership

Skyline Communications will use IBC in Amsterdam to showcase how its collaboration with Microsoft is helping media companies accelerate the transition toward AI-native, cloud-enabled, and autonomous operations. The collaboration brings together Skyline’s DataMiner xOps platform and Microsoft Foundry to enable AI-powered operational intelligence, agent-driven workflows, and intelligent automation across media operations.

Media companies are under pressure to produce, manage, distribute, and monetize more content across more platforms, with higher reliability and fewer operational constraints. Traditional media operations were not built for that level of speed, flexibility, and intelligence. They are often fragmented across vendors, facilities, cloud services, business systems, and operational teams. Skyline is addressing that challenge by enabling a unified operational layer that connects data, control, automation, AI, and cloud scalability across the full media technology landscape.

At the center of this collaboration is DataMiner xOps, Skyline’s vendor-agnostic platform for real-time digital ecosystem management and orchestration. When combined with Foundry, DataMiner xOps enables media companies to build, deploy, and manage AI-powered applications and agents that help optimize operations, automate workflows, and surface operational insights. This includes hybrid and cloud workflows, observability, resource-aware orchestration, automation, collaboration, scalable storage, marketplace-based procurement, and AI-powered operational intelligence.

For media organizations, the value is tangible. They can shorten deployment cycles, simplify procurement through Microsoft Azure Marketplace, leverage existing Microsoft Azure commitments where applicable, scale operations more efficiently, and reduce the friction between engineering, operations, production, and business teams. More importantly, they gain the operational fabric needed to become faster, more adaptive, and more resilient in an industry where change is no longer episodic but continuous.

Cloud and AI are no longer optional technology layers. They are becoming strategic assets that define how fast media companies can innovate, how efficiently they can operate, and how well they can compete. Ben Vandenberghe, CEO at Skyline Communications

“The media industry is entering a fundamentally new phase,” said Ben Vandenberghe, CEO at Skyline Communications. “Cloud and AI are no longer optional technology layers. They are becoming strategic assets that define how fast media companies can innovate, how efficiently they can operate, and how well they can compete. Our collaboration with Microsoft is about turning that potential into operational reality. Together, we are helping customers build the foundation for AI-native operations, not as a distant vision, but as a practical and scalable path forward.”

The collaboration also supports a more pragmatic path to transformation. DataMiner services can be consumed through flexible cloud-connected models, including DataMiner as a Service and Storage as a Service, with DataMiner Credits available through Microsoft Azure Marketplace. This helps organizations align transformation initiatives with their Microsoft cloud strategy and streamline the commercial path from vision to deployment.

At IBC Amsterdam, Skyline will demonstrate how DataMiner xOps, powered by cloud and AI capabilities, enables AI-native media operations across contribution, production, playout, distribution, monitoring, orchestration, scheduling, and dynamic infrastructure management. Visitors will see how media companies can move beyond isolated automation projects and build a unified operational model that continuously adapts to business needs, technology changes, and new service opportunities.

“What matters is not simply moving media workloads to the cloud,” Vandenberghe added. “The real opportunity is to rethink the operational model. Media companies need a dynamic operational fabric that connects every resource, every workflow, and every decision point. That is where DataMiner and Microsoft Foundry create significant advantages. It reduces time to value today and creates the basis for autonomous operations tomorrow.”

By bringing together DataMiner’s operational intelligence platform with Microsoft Foundry, Skyline Communications is helping customers build AI-powered applications and agents that orchestrate operations across fragmented media ecosystems, accelerate innovation, and unlock new levels of operational efficiency. Simon Crownshaw, Head of Media and Entertainment Worldwide at Microsoft

“Media organizations are looking for practical ways to apply cloud and AI across increasingly complex operational environments,” said Simon Crownshaw, Head of Media and Entertainment Worldwide at Microsoft. “By bringing together DataMiner’s operational intelligence platform with Microsoft Foundry, Skyline Communications is helping customers build AI-powered applications and agents that orchestrate operations across fragmented media ecosystems, accelerate innovation, and unlock new levels of operational efficiency.”

IBC visitors are invited to meet Skyline Communications (booth 1.B40) in Amsterdam to experience how DataMiner xOps and Microsoft Foundry can help media organizations build the operational foundation for the intelligence and autonomous era.
