DataMiner's sustainability innovations shortlisted for IABM BaM Awards 2023
Skyline Communications, global leading provider of vendor- and domain-agnostic digital transformation solutions for the ICT media and broadband industry, is excited to announce that its unwavering commitment to reducing the global ecological footprint has garnered well-deserved recognition. Its sustainability program, offering free-to-use DataMiner software for energy management, has earned a place on the shortlist for the prestigious annual IABM BaM Awards in the "Project" category.
Free DataMiner software to boost industry-wide data-driven sustainability
Businesses in all sectors recognize the urgency to adopt renewable energy, reduce carbon footprints, and ensure climate neutrality. And according to Frederik Vandenberghe, CFO at Skyline, it's "data" that lies at the core of this ecological transformation.
"Organizations can leverage data to unearth insights, optimize processes, and promote sustainability. This explains the rising popularity of Digital Transformation tools like DataMiner, as they help process huge amounts of data, turn it into actionable insights, and create tailored solutions and workflows," clarified Frederik Vandenberghe. "Whether DataMiner is used for optimizing energy management in vast data centers or smart control of heating systems in teleports, the possibilities are virtually endless. And we are acutely aware of the substantial responsibility that accompanies this role in reducing the ecological impact of the ICT industry as a whole."
This commitment to environmental responsibility drives Skyline Communications to offer all software drivers within the DataMiner Catalog related to energy monitoring free of charge, provided they are employed exclusively for energy management and ecological footprint reduction purposes. This initiative underscores their determination to maximize the positive environmental impact of DataMiner software.
"We are delighted that IABM recognizes our unwavering dedication and hard work in fostering industry-wide awareness of our climate impact," Frederik adds proudly.
BaM Awards at IBC 2023
The IABM BaM Awards recognize outstanding technological innovations with real business and creative benefits. Known as the gold standard for rewarding broadcast and media innovation, these awards feature a selection of shortlisted tech companies across various categories. The winners of this year's awards will be revealed during the IBC show, one of the industry's premier exhibitions for media and broadcasting.
Sustainability is at the heart of DataMiner's operations
Skyline has always been at the forefront when it comes to sustainable entrepreneurship as an organization. For instance, their headquarters in Belgium stands out as one of the very first nearly energy-neutral buildings of its size in the surrounding area.
"But we continuously seek opportunities to go further and make a positive impact on multiple fronts," asserts Frederik Vandenberghe. "Through our people, technology, and funds, we facilitate digital transformation across all domains, foster the growth of inclusive communities, and cultivate ecosystems that drive lasting change for the people, the community, and the planet. And the free DataMiner connectors for footprint reduction are a great example of this. "
However, this commitment is also evident in Skyline's ambitious goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2025. "To attain this goal, we are implementing a variety of initiatives across our operations. These encompass transitioning to renewable energy sources, enhancing energy efficiency, and adopting sustainable practices in our offices worldwide. Additionally, we are investing in carbon offset projects to compensate for our business travel," Frederik elaborates.
