DataMiner awarded teleport technology of the year bya WTA

Skyline Communications, global leader in end-to-end multi-vendor network management and OSS software solutions for the broadcast, satellite, cable, telco and mobile industries, is proud to announce that its flagship DataMiner network management platform has been awarded the Teleport Technology of the Year award for 2016 by the World Teleport Association (WTA). During a ceremony at the SATELLITE conference on March 8, DataMiner was chosen as the winner in a category that contains only the absolute top technologies in the satellite industry.

Steven and Roger were proud to receive DataMiner’s Teleport Technology of the Year award at Satellite.

DataMiner provides teleport operators, satellite operators, broadcasters and cable, telco and mobile service providers with an unprecedented end-to-end visibility and control over their entire network and operations, across any possible vendor and technology boundaries. It already manages more than 4500 products from over 500 different technology vendors in the media industry, which is unprecedented. This truly unique multi-vendor aspect, and the vendor-independence of Skyline Communications, set DataMiner apart from any other system on the market.

“DataMiner has become the leading platform to manage SNG networks, sports contribution, broadcast exchange networks, studios, VoD assets, playouts, cable and telco headends, satellite uplinks, DTH, DTT, cable and telco plants, etc.” said Steven Soenens, Product Marketing Director at Skyline Communications. “Its innovative end-to-end service and resource orchestration technology enables operators to book, schedule and automate the setup of complex services over the entire network without compromises. Never before have teleport operators been able to run complex services so easily across multiple satellite segments, frequency bands, multi-spot beam constellations, fiber links and gateways.”

“We would not have been able to achieve this award without the hard work and dedication of our talented and highly motivated expert telecom, broadcast and ICT engineers, who continuously push the boundaries of what is possible,” commented Ben Vandenberghe, CEO at Skyline Communications. “The foundation of our success is pure innovation taken to the extreme. DataMiner provides satellite operators with complete end-to-end visibility over their entire network and all operations, across any possible vendor and technology boundaries. It’s no coincidence that it has been chosen by over 650 customers in more than 100 countries to manage some of the most prestigious infrastructures. And as our ambitions don’t stop there, we are planning to hire 70 more professionals this year alone.”

DataMiner truly turns teleport operators into network operators, enabling many new business models and service offerings. In the past, operators’ business growth was capped because of proprietary and closed infrastructures both for SCPC and VSAT. With DataMiner, operators transcend any such limitations: they can deploy the most suitable technologies at optimal capital and operational cost, and seamlessly run services end to end. As such, DataMiner has become the most strategic asset available to create profitable business growth, and one of the most fundamental building blocks of any teleport business dedicated to success.
