Kordia future-proofs its Network Operations Center with DataMiner
The challenge: siloed infrastructure limiting agility
Kordia, a state-owned communications provider across New Zealand, and the wider Asia Pacific, relies on its Network Operations Center (NOC) to deliver essential services such as national broadcasting, emergency communications, and digital connectivity. Operating 24/7, 365 days a year, the NOC is where all Kordia’s networks, assets and devices are monitored around the clock – and the NOC engineers are the first port of call when an issue or fault appears.
However, their operational environment was increasingly constrained by siloed platforms, manual workflows, and aging infrastructure. While the legacy systems in place were robust and stable, they lacked the flexibility to keep pace with growing demand and evolving technologies.
To ensure long-term scalability and maintain service excellence across its multi-vendor ecosystem, Kordia needed to replace its fragmented toolset with a unified platform—one that could provide enhanced intelligence, central control, and the ability to adapt in a fast-changing digital landscape.
The nature of our business demands uncompromising performance, and Skyline was there to support every request and enhancement we required. Regan Hughes, Head of Technology, Kordia

The solution: from siloed tools to smart, unified operations across 5,000+ devices
Kordia partnered with us to deploy DataMiner as a unified xOps platform. The solution replaced multiple fragmented tools with a single, vendor-agnostic layer for real-time monitoring, control, and automation.
The deployment covered more than 5,000 devices and established one intuitive, future-ready NOC environment.
Kordia’s engineering and software teams worked closely with several Skyline teams to ensure every requirement was met, from legacy support to modern automation. The collaboration laid the groundwork for a new operational model focused on insight, responsiveness, and continuous evolution.
The benefits
Operational intelligence: Real-time dashboards and live KPIs give engineers enhanced visibility and functionality across the network , enabling improved issue detection and more informed decision-making.
Increased efficiency: Automated workflows, integrated ticketing, and centralized control reduce manual tasks and free up resources to focus on higher-value work.
Future-ready scalability: The platform provides a flexible foundation for continuous growth, secure change management, and service innovation across multiple domains.
Today, 98% of Kordia’s infrastructure is provisioned on DataMiner. The transformation marks a major milestone in Kordia’s digital evolution and positions the company to offer future-proofed, best-in-class asset and network management services for other critical service providers.
The new platform isn’t just a replacement for older tools, it’s a strategic enabler for expanding services, scaling confidently, and staying ahead in a high-stakes, always-on industry.
